Becoming a Trustee

Become a Trustee and Make a Difference!

Did you know there are around 10,000 village halls across the country providing a home for fitness classes, amateur dramatics, dances, play groups, parish councils, polling stations and many other local based activities. Most are run as charities. East Tisted Village Hall is one of them, managed by a dedicated group of community volunteers known as the Village Hall Committee and the Village Hall Trustees.

What Do Trustees Do?

Our trustees play a crucial role in the community by:

  • Ensuring Accessibility: Keeping East Tisted Village Hall open and welcoming to everyone, now and in the future.
  • Overseeing Management: handling daily operations.
  • Maintaining Standards: Making decisions about maintenance and ensuring tasks like annual fire inspections are completed.
  • Managing Finances: Ensuring the hall’s financial sustainability. As a non-profit organization, any surplus (profit) made by East Tisted Village Hall is reinvested directly into maintaining and enhancing the hall.
  • Engaging with the Community: Working with people in the village and other community groups to ensure the hall meets the community’s needs now and in the future.

Our Village Hall is a cornerstone of the village, serving as a vital hub for community connection. It’s essential that we also look to the future, ensuring the hall evolves to meet the changing needs of our community.
